Un prodotto eco-sostenibile e bello da indossare
Tessuti e filati in lana, versatili, e proposti in tantissime combinazioni, nati dal riciclo di materiali tessili, accompagnati da un marchio che garantisce il ciclo di vita del prodotto, Per dirla tecnicamente la LCA (life Cycle Assessment). Questo il contenuto del nuovo marchio Cardato Recycled, promosso dalla Camera di Commercio di Prato, in collaborazione con Consorzio per la Valorizzazione dei prodotti tessili cardati, Unione Industriale Pratese, CNA e Confartigianato.
A garantire la certificazione è SGS, l'ente di certificazione internazionale, che garantisce un collegamento anche con i marchi della moda. Sono sempre più i marchi che stanno seguendo questo percorso.
Per fregiarsi del marchio “Cardato Recycled” i tessuti e i filati devono:
essere prodotti all’interno del distretto pratese;
essere realizzati con almeno il 65% di materiale riciclato (abiti o scarti di lavorazione tessile)
aver misurato l’impatto ambientale dell’intero ciclo di produzione tenendo conto di tre aspetti: impatto del consumo di acqua, di energia e di CO2.

Per ogni kg di tessuto prodotto con lana vergine l'impatto di CO2 è di 9 kg; per un prodotto con lana rigenerata è di 0,5 kg

A sustainable product that is beautiful to wear
Versatile wool fabrics and yarns that can be used in many ways, made from recycled textiles or virgin fybers and accompanied by a brand that guarantees the life cycle measurement of its product, or, to use technical terminology, its LCA (Life Cycle Assessment).
This is what makes up new brands, Cardato Recycled and Cardato, sponsored by the Prato Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Consortium for the Valorisation of Cardato Textiles, the Prato Industrial Union, Confartigianato and CNA. The international certification body SGS that is responsible for certification, as well as providing a connection to fashion brands. More and more brands are following this path. Cardato Recycled and Cardato companies can have this information attested by a third party and made available to their clients.
To display the "Cardato Recycled" trademark, fabrics and yarns must:
be produced in the Prato district;
be made with at least 65% recycled material (clothing or textile scraps);
have measured the environmental impact of its entire production cycle taking into account three aspects: water, energy and CO2 consumption levels.

Every kilo of extra virgin wool textile produced generates 9 kg of CO2; making it in regenerated wool generates only 0.5kg of CO2
